  Hi everyone.  I sort of disappeared from here for a while.  Sorry! 😉

  Anyway....I'm am planning on giving my old room a facelift.  Confession: It's a wreck. A sloppy, dirty wreck. 😳 It's been bothering me so I decided on organizing all the things. Along the way, I will be redecorating!

Clip Paper Organizer

    Hello loyal readers!  How are you today?  I am doing great.....it's summer break for me.  Here is a craft to help you organize all those summer plans or lesson plans for the next school year (Please forgive me for even talking about the school year to come in the beginning of summer.).

    This craft is super easy to make.  There are only three, easy steps.  Once you're done you have a little organizer for important reminders, notes, etc..

Now, let's get to the craft. 

All you need is paper, crayons/markers, strong glue(I used tacky glue), and a hair clip.  

First, decorate a sheet of paper

Using a hair clip(like the one above), glue to the paper in the spot wanted.

Hang up!  So easy, useful, and cute!  

Pop Up Cards

   How cute is this?  Pretty darn cute.  Birthdays, lemonade stand invitations/props, Mother's Day(that's coming up....), all those things....need a pop up card!  

   These are actually easy to make. I got my crafty craving a few days ago, but only had a few minutes to craft, craft, craft!  So, I found a cute, easy, and fast craft.  Here it is....

Strong paper, printer paper, scissors, embellishments, and glue.

Make a card out of your strong paper.  Then, cut your flimsy paper, so it has the same width as your card, but a shorter length.  Fold on half. 

Cut slits in your folded flimsy paper.  Make sure you are cutting in the fold.  DON'T cut all the way, just slits.

Unfold your flimsy paper.  Place some glue on both, long sides.

Glue on your card, right where the card fold is.  Then, pop up your slits.  (Look at the picture above if this is confusing.)

Glue on your embellishments.  The ones you want to pop need to be glued on the popping slits.

Fold down a few times. Be gentle so the embellishments don't get all ruined.  After a few folds, the pop up should naturally pop up.  

Chalk Painting

   So, we have this great cottage....that needs some major designing.  We are renovating.  Looking for a rustic (ish) look, we came across chalk paint.  Chalk paint, I learned, is so easy to apply!  No primer needed!  I decided to take you along on the journey of chalk painting furniture...it's fun!

If your piece is smooth, you'll want to sand it just a little.  Just a quick sand.  

Using a wet rag, erase the sanding marks.

Fill a spray bottle.  If the paint gets to thick, this will help. 

Shake, shake, shake!  

Open up your paint can. 

Pour your paint into a cup.  (My paint color is blue, but appears green in the yellow cup.)

Pour in some water....very little.  This is only needed if you can't paint with the paint that thick.  If you can use the paint as is, go for it!

Dip it in. 

Start painting ONE coat.

Keep on painting, keep on painting.....

If the paint on the piece appears too thick, spray some water.

For a detailed piece, you can use a tinier brush to get in the small spaces.  

Add more than one coat if needed.  Let dry.  Sand the edges for a rustic look.

Molding Paste

    Have you ever seen a painting with a rough looking texture?  The artist probably used molding paste to create this look.  It actually is really simple to do.  I love using it with my paintings, so I thought I would share it with you!

This is molding paste.

Dip your tool into the paste. 

Spread on canvas. 

Let dry. 

Paint over! 

Chalkboard Cleaner

    I love chalkboards. I don't know why.  I have one in my room, some hanging up in the kitchen, and am planning to paint a room with chalkboard paint.  Okay.....It sounds like my house is a mess with chalk dust all over.  It isn't though.  I keep my beautiful chalkboard clean.  I use one special trick.  This trick devours any smudges, chalk, or chalk dust on my board.  It doesn't act like a standard eraser, because the dust clings to it, instead of flying all over and making me cough.  Now, would you like to hear the trick? Okay, let's get to it.

Icky....smeared chalk dust all over the board.  Looks messy! Let's put this trick to the test! 

Watch as Super Windex cleans up the mess! 

Spray with Windex. 

Wipe with a rag! Wow! A clean chalkboard!
