Ombré Ocean Waves

I am so proud of myself!  I came up with nail art that actually looks good!:). Finally.  Although my other nail art is pretty darn cute....this design is a favorite!  Why?  Ombré ocean waves are super easy!  Doesn't look that way, but it's true!

Yeah, that's our house...no that is not a real mouse on the staircase; it's a paper one for Halloween decoration.  Focus your attention to the iPod case, please.   Look at those pretty shades of blue.  I love the color blue, and it just so happened to match the color of my outfit.:). However, if you're  thinking more oranges or reds...go for it!  Like green?  Use green!  Just make sure your colors are next to each other on the color wheel.  Don't mix opposites.

So, obviously it's a pretty cute design.  There's more....it's easy!  My family was just about to head out for some shopping when I decided to give my nails attention.  BAM!  It took less than ten minutes, I think.  Easy, fun, pretty!

First, paint your nails white.  This is optional, but it gives the ombré a POP!

Starting at the bottom of your nail, paint your darkest shade.  As you can see I applied my polish on with a spongy texture.  You can go for a more perfect line, but my "spongy" technique achieved more of a wave-like look.  To do this, use your nail polish brush to dot on the polish until you've achieved the look.  Don't perfectly dot, just fastly dot.  Imperfect dotting makes up the ombré "wave."

Move onto your next darkest shade.  Overlay the polishes a little bit to slightly blend and achieve the ombré look.  Use the same applying technique.
Next darkest color.
Next darkest color.  I'm done!  I used four shades, but don't feel limited to do four!

Enjoy!  Questions?  Comment!  Don't forget to pin!
