Washi Tape Gift Tags

I know, I know.  I should of posted this DIY a month ago when everyone was wrapping gifts....but ideas come when they come.  And this idea came yesterday.  Inspired by this.  Valentine's Day?  Before you judge this post on its poor timing, read through it. :) Please.  You'll be intrigued by

this simplicity, yet fun DIY.

Let's get started. 

Obviously, you're going to need washi tape.  You can even get more DIY by decorating plain, old masking tape in place of washi tape.

Oh, yeah....you're going to need gift tags.  You can buy them, or cut them with your own Cricut cutting machine. 

Tear some washi tape, slightly longer than the tag.  Depending on the size of the gift tag and your thickness preference, tear the washi tape in half.(Or thicker or thinner....like I said; your preference)

Tape it down your gift tag. (Yeah...the picture is not the best.  It was night....lighting was poor.  Sorry.  The gift tags turn out a lot better looking than this.  Promise.) 

Keep repeating this step.  I like to have three strips of contrasting washi tape patterns on each gift tag.  I also, only cover the middle in tape, which let's the original gift tag shine a little.   

Using a permanent marker, add to and from, and if you please, little decorations on the side.
